The unpredictability of nature means that each these ten special excursions weeks will offer visitors different aspects of Cyprus in springtime. Flamingoes on the Salt Lakes, orchids and other wild flowers, we hope to show you all of these things. Always there is a profusion of colour and life as new energy is breathed into the land by the warmth of the springtime sunshine that follows the winter rains.

More predictable are the ancient monuments. On a steep slope in the Troodos foothills about 6 Km from the sea stands the Neolithic settlement at Khirokitia; it dates from 7,000 years before the birth of Jesus Christ. The uniquely beautiful Byzantine mosaic of ‘Panayia Angeloktistos’, the church built by the angels’, dates from the 6th century AD. These form part of the feasts of beauty that await you on the first excursion of this memorable holiday.

From the azure blue seas of Cape Greco in the east to the wild beauty of the Akamas Peninsula in the west there are churches, monasteries, ancient monuments and archaeological sites waiting to be explored at a leisurely pace. Always there is the promise of discovering the hidden wild orchids among the abundance of other flowers that fill the countryside and grace our walks at this time of year.

The rarest of flowers are to be found in the unspoilt countryside, away from the commonly used trails. In order to reach these areas a certain amount of walking is necessary.
